Great place and location was very convenient. You could see the ocean from a distance and could hear it in the evenings. The place was clean and orderly. One recommendation would be to provide coffee supplies, that is typically always at rentals

This house is even better than it looks in the pictures, and in a great location within walking distance of Moonstone Beach and downtown. The house is small but they make great use of the space and it has a great layout that makes it seem more spacious. There's expansive ocean views, and interesting artwork in the indoor and outdoor spaces. The house was clean, the furniture was comfortable, and the property managers were very nice and easy to work with. Thanks for a great stay!

We love coming to this little house! It’s one of the most thoughtfully furnished vacation rentals I’ve stayed, and we’ve become returning customers. The neighborhood is quiet and close (though not walkable) to town and Fiscallini. We enjoy walks in the nature preserve and along Moonstone beach, dinners and antiquing in town, and sunsets from one of the cottage’s many terraces. Judging from the guest book, most guests treat their stay as a mini retreat, as we do, and enjoy their stay. Be sure to find the hidden bell!

Whenever I go home to Cambria I stay in a Cambria Vacation Rentals home. I love them. This place always feels like my home away from home. Love the artistic touches throughout.

This property is awesome for anyone who has pups with an enclosed space for them to relax with you outside. The view out the living room window is amazing.

The home was clean, tastefully and thoughtfully furnished inside and out. I could tell that the owner truly spent time thinking about the needs of vacation home renters.

We had a lovely three nights at this charming cottage. It was very cozy and comfortable, and we loved all the indoor and outdoor spaces it offered. We will definitely come back, if for no other reason but to find the hidden hand bell!

Felt so welcome walking into this dollhouse for the first time. The details of the owners, from the inspiring verses and notes, to the decorations, were so appreciated and added to the warmness of the home. My sister stayed in the 2nd bedroom and was thrilled there was a rocking chair!

The Canterbury House is warm, welcoming, and lovingly appointed. There are many little touches throughout to make you feel comforted and cared for. The ocean views from all front windows are amazing! This space was exactly what my heart needed.

We have stayed all over Cambria for the past 35 years, and the Canterbury House beats them all. The owners have gone above and beyond to make sure that we were warm, comfortable and had a wonderful stay. We spent Thanksgiving, and we had everything we possible could need to cook our meal(s). Our pup had easy access to go outside at all times. The view of the ocean is seen from the bedroom, kitchen and living room. We listened to the crashing waves 24/7. This is a wonderful home, and we'll most definitely be back.

This is a wonderful location for anyone with or without fur babies. The number of spaces where you can safely hang out with your pups is awesome. The views are to die for. The house itself provides great accommodations.

We recently stayed in the Canterbury house for the 4th time. We love this sweet home for the 2 of us and our 2 little furrbabies. It has everything you need. Vintage home with all the nice updates. Lots of outdoor spaces to hang-out and gardens to explore. Lots of homemade beach art. The owner's obviously love this house and have decorated it really nice. We highly recommend the Canterbury House.

Loved this property! We stayed a week and found the home to be very well equipped, and comfortable. Pet-friendly - clean, no smells. Homes are somewhat close together but rarely heard the neighbors. We liked being away from the more crowded areas in the city - even spotted a large buck at the end of the street. Property management was great, check-in/out a breeze. The market in town carried all supplies needed. We enjoyed eating at Robins and wine tasting at Moonstone Cellars. Would stay here again.

This darling cottage was such a find. It was homey and cozy and the owners clearly care very much about their guests' comfort. It was fully equipped with anything you needed, well furnished and so comfortable. We loved being able to have our dogs with us and the dog run was so convenient in the evenings. We utilized all the outdoor space, listening to the waves, watching the birds, enjoying the beautiful plants. All the nautical touches around the house made us smile every time - the sailboats made with map paper and driftwood, the shadow box with seaglass and shells, etc - precious! It was clean and safe and super easy to access Moonstone Beach, Fiscalini Preserve and downtown Cambria. Such a treat. Only wish we could have stayed in forever. Thank you for sharing this gem with us. We can't wait to return!

We've stayed in quite a few of the vacation homes that Cambria Vacation Rentals provides, but never this one. We loved it. It is a perfect size for my wife and I, plus the one dog. Clean, quiet, and a view of the ocean. We'll stay in this one again.

Couldn't begin to capture what a lovely spot this is. The owners have thought out every detail of what a guest might need to feel comfortable. We loved having gated areas so we knew our dogs were safe to explore while we took advantage of the multiple seating areas in the yard. The yard is beautifully designed and maintained. The decor inside the house is tastefully nautical and whimsical (driftwood boats with paper sails), box frames of seashells and seaglass), vintage map upholstery on the chairs. The effort and love put into this adorable cottage was obvious. Very comfortable for our family of 4 and 2 dogs. Easy access (driving or short walk to downtown). Walked Fiscalini Preserve daily. We will be back! Thank you hosts and thank you Cambria for an always restorative visit!

We spent five days and nights at the Canterbury house and loved it. It’s a charming house with a great view, well-appointed and equipped with everything we needed. Sometimes, it can be harder for our dogs to be comfortable in a new place than us, but they adapted well. We love Cambria, and staying here allowed us to enjoy our first visit in a long time!

Canterbury Cottage is a cozy beach home with a lot of amenities. It has a lot of outdoor areas to enjoy the wonderful ocean air. There have been many upgrades to the home that made our stay even more enjoyable. Love the fireplace. It was so nice to bring our dogs and have a safe outside area for them to hangout. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I have been coming here for years. When you walk in the front door you immediately get a welcoming warm feeling. then you look out the front windows for this wonderful view, you don't even have to leave to see the beautiful sunsets. Such a peaceful place to getaway.

Just got back from a wonderful stay at this house on Canterbury. Close to town, close to the Cambria Christmas Market, close to everything! Everything was great at the house except during our last night there, seems a breaker shorted and we had no electricity in part of the house (bathrooms, bedrooms, living room). Couldn’t turn on heater. Also, the driveway is very steep. My 84 year old mother was with us and you literally have to park on the street to let people out of your car and then we walked up steep driveway. Also, we had a dog with us and could not find a pooper scooper anywhere on the premises. Picked up her poops with doggie bags. They could do with having more outside lighting. Walking up and down steep driveway with no lighting could get a little hairy. No lighting around the house either when you need to take your dog out for a pee. Great views from the living room windows though. Kept windows open at night so we could hear the waves crashing. Very nice! All in all, we had a great stay.

We usually stay in a dog friendly rental in Moonstone Beach area. This is the first time we stayed in the Happy Hill area. The dogs had more room on this property and it was exceptionally dog safe. Also loved the quaintness..Lots of streets to walk the dogs and the neighborhood is super friendly.

This house is lovely, especially enjoyed the beautiful flowers and succulents. It is well taken care of and felt like someone’s home. I especially enjoyed the little fireplace and views. Good location too.

We have been visiting the Canterbury House for 21 years. It's our favorite place to stay on earth. The owners have created an inviting romantic haven with myriad recent upgrades - lovely patios, wooden steps, new windows, floors, countertops, an exceptional gas fireplace, and much more. The home is sparkling clean and fully-equipped. And while we love to walk in the neighborhood and into town and the beach, sometimes we don't want to leave at all. The view of the town and the ocean from the living room windows are enrapturing. At night, the distant sound of the waves will lull you to sleep wrapped in the clouds of the cozy beds. And to top it all off, the staff at Cambria Vacation Rentals are warm and accommodating. If you'd like to stay at a serene, artsy, and warm retreat, choose the Canterbury House!

Love this home and all the new renovations made it even better! So much easier to get up and down the front staircase and so nice to sit out on the patio and deck to watch the sunset. Great view of the water and great location. Cozy and comfortable. Side of house steps to each yard also much easier to get up and down. Dog friendly and convenient for them to go out and back into the house. We had a wonderful stay!

A most beautiful location. The house was gorgeous and spotless. It was stocked with everything we needed. Management company was wonderful from beginning to end. We were able to bring our beloved 4 legged child. He loved the big, spacious yard. We were close to the water and attractions. Local pizza shop delivered a delicious pizza to us so fast. What’s not to love? The thing I enjoyed most about the property was the view of the ocean. Stunning and breathtaking. I would definitely recommend anyone who loves the ocean to stay at this location.

We have stayed in this house many times over the last years with our dog and we love it! The upgrades to the house and landscaping are great too. The only thing we noticed this time is that the carpets are quite dirty - we walk around in bare feet or white socks a lot. We've never noticed this before and think the new carpet may be harder to clean. Wood and tile floors were very clean

We had a wonderful and most relaxing visit at the Canterbury cottage! We will definitely be back!

This charming cottage on Happy Hill was the perfect getaway for my husband and I.. and our little dog Ginger. Well appointed, it was cozy and charming. I do wish the fireplace had been working but that was a small thing given all of the other benefits we enjoyed here during our stay.

The Canterbury Cottage is by far our favorite vacation rental in Cambria, and we've been visiting Cambria yearly for 35 years. The owners, Joe and Linda, have put their hearts and souls into creating a space fashioned with care, creativity, and love. They have recently added thoughtful and inviting upgrades to an already wonderful homey cottage. And the expansive view of the sea, the sunrises, and sunsets from the living room window is breathtaking. The neighborhood is quiet with lovely places to walk or drive - including to the town and Moonstone Beach. It rained during our stay and after walking in the rain on Moonstone beach, we returned home and spent the afternoon playing Monopoly, which we found in the house. My kids had never played before and it was fun to relive my own childhood memories with them playing hours of Monopoly. Beautiful ocean views from the living room were a big plus!

Checking in and out was a breeze! Lots of plates/flatware and kitchen equipment. It was nice and quiet, too. The house itself is lovely, lots of attention to detail and well maintained. The yard is especially nice with multiple seating options, umbrellas, and views of the ocean. There is an herb garden with seating and a lot of beautiful succulents, along with many visually interesting garden elements. It is also dog friendly though there was no sign or smell of dogs to be found, which is great. WiFi/internet access worked perfectly, too. Be warned that the driveway/parking area is steep, as are many driveways in Cambria--there is a flatter space right in front of the house that may be easier for some to get in/out of the car.

This quirky (in a good way) and artistic home makes a wonderful stay! Sweeping ocean views AND you can be lulled to sleep at night by the ocean sounds! The front patio is perfect for morning coffee and is quite private. I recommend this place!

My husband, Sherwood, and I have been staying at the "Canterbury House" in Cambria for the past 18 years. We can't really even begin to describe how much we love it and how deeply we appreciate the owners, Joe and Linda and the folks at Cambria Vacation Rentals. We have traveled all over the world, but the Canterbury House always calls us back. It is our favorite spot on the planet (and just a few hours drive from our house)!

The home itself is imbued with a warm inviting energy which includes some of Linda's splendid art. Joe and Linda have done myriad beautiful upgrades over the past couple years including making it pet-friendly; they even put in a dog-run behind the house. Their lovely drought-resistant gardens and individually-rendered creative stepping stones lead around the perimeter of the house - which we just discovered!

The kitchen has brand-new appliances and new gorgeous granite countertops. It is fully stocked with every possible dish, pot, pan, piece of silverware, and cooking utensil. When we're at the house, we don't really ever want to leave, and we often cook our meals there even though Cambria has amazing restaurants such as Robin's and the Sea Chest and many others including Linn's - especially for their scrumptious pies.

The view from the Canterbury House of the lush trees and homes in the town and the ever-changing sublime sea is exquisite. And the sound of the waves in the distance at night always lulls us to sleep in the comfortable cozy beds. Both bathrooms have been redone with wonderful upgrades, and we have gotten spoiled with each of us having our own bathroom!

The Canterbury House is a thoughtful haven created with love and kindness. We highly recommend it to folks who appreciate special touches and the delightful soothing atmosphere of a home, as opposed to the modern cold soulless environment of some hotels.
