We had a great time at this house celebrating a milestone birthday with five family members and a dog. The property needs a new barbecue that is not rusted internally and can work in the normal wind of the Cambria coastline. One faucet did not have cold water pressure. Small issues, but they need to be remedied.

We have been coming to Cambria for almost 30 years and this was our first stay at this home. It is the perfect home for a restful stay with amazing ocean views from the patio. The home was spacious, clean and comfortable. We were celebrating my wife’s birthday and we loved it so much we hope to return later this year for our anniversary. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy this beautiful home!!

We have used Cambria Vacation Rentals for 20 years and have never been disappointed with their service or the homes we have stayed in. It was our second time to stay at 401 Hastings. It's a great house and has the best view, is pet friendly and very comfortable. :)

We had a great stay at 401 Hastings the week after Christmas. We've been coming to Cambria a few times a year for 25 years and always stay in a vacation rental. This one had everything we needed. We loved that it was pet friendly and that each bedroom had its own bathroom. The ocean views from the main floor were fantastic. And the deck was absolutely amazing. We love being on Park Hill - close enough to walk to town or to hike Fiscalini. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and baking. Also, we really appreciated having a NEMA 14-50 EV charging plug in. We rarely stay in the same place twice, but we would happily stay here again!

This is the second time that we’ve stayed at this particular address and have been spending time in Cambria at homes through Cambria Vacation Rentals for several years now. They are always beyond comfortable, the views are always gorgeous, the homes are always spotless, and the owners of, the agency are beyond accommodating and kind. We hope to continue visiting this beautiful area in Cambria vacation rental homes for many years to come. This year we had a car breakdown and they were kind enough to allow us to stay one more night even coming up on the busy Memorial Day weekend. It was a true blessing.

Love this beautiful home in Cambria. The deck and living room offer amazing and peaceful ocean views. A short walk to the shore to explore. The house is comfortable, clean and spacious. We will return soon!

This house was a pleasant surprise. Having stayed at several houses Cambria Vacation Rentals provides, we are putting this house on our list of faves. The location is great. Just above Windsor Blvd and a short walk to the ocean and a quick drive to town. The house was clean and had everything you could need. The one bed we used was very comfortable. We loved sitting on the deck and watching the sun set. Another thing we loved was the short walk with our dog to Fiscalini Ranch. Expect to see some deer walking around.

I've known Heidi and Janet for years. They genuinely care about their guests, and they want to make your vacation experience as enjoyable as possible. The reservation process, check-in, and check-out were a breeze. The property was accurately described, extremely clean, and managed well. I would definitely stay at this property again, and I highly recommend it to others.

This is our third time staying around New Year's and we love it! It is perfect for our 3 generations. The views are spectacular, especially the sunsets. The layout of the house is perfect and relaxing while cooking family meals, playing games together, or just relaxing and reading books. Our dog loves to come along too.

Two couples spent a lovely 4 days at the home. The deck and BBQ made for wonderful lunch location for nightly sunset views and extended cocktails The one master suite downstairs was perfect while the other two bedrooms were rather cramped. The kitchen was fully stocked and the dining room table was spacious.

The property was in great condition. Heide from CRV met us there upon arrival and resolved the glitch in the streaming services. That enhanced our stay there.

WE have been using CVR for many years, Never a bad experience. The entire staff is very helpful.

We had a few problems but they were dealt with quickly by Jone and Heidi. The shower in the downtown queen bedroom overflowed. A plumber came the next day and fixed the problem. The carpets in the bedroom and bath were of course soaking. Someone came out and cleaned up and sanitized the room and removed all of the carpets, but we never got new ones. Also, the smoke alarm in the upstairs bedroom was triggered, we believe, by steam from the shower. My daughter had to fan the steam out the window, and sleep with the window open. The house was otherwise great! Great kitchen with good and varied kitchen utensils and tableware, and an electric kettle along with the coffeemaker. We liked the upper room setup, with the kitchen at one end of the room, with the large windows all along the ocean side of the house. The furniture looks new, and is very nice, but there are no long sofas for a family to watch TV together. There are small wall TVs in the living room as well as the downstairs bedrooms.We cooked dinner in 4 out of the seven nights, and appreciated the sturdy table and chairs. We brought our dogs, and there was really no good place to walk the dogs from the house. There are very steep hills around the house. I did appreciate the very large dog bed in the lower master bedroom. The negatives include no shower caddies in the showers to hold your shampoo, soap, etc. Hopefully that will be remedied. We really liked the beds. Firm, but comfortable. The linens and towels were very good and we all slept well.

We chose this rental because it was dog friendly and the deck was spacious with great views. House was clean and rooms were comfortable. Living room furniture wasn’t the most comfortable, but we spent most of our time outside so I didn’t really matter. This place is on my radar and I will definitely book again.

We've been going to Cambria for almost 18 years in the winter months. We always rent a house and this one was new to us. The back deck was the best and the view was unmatched! The house was clean and not cluttered. Our family was very comfortable and we were surprised that the walk to the ocean is about 2 blocks! Would definitely stay here again.

Outstanding location. The house was clean but there were a few issues. They need a pest control service. We found ants and spiders. We took care of them ourselves. The furnace needs some major service. BUT it is a beautiful house and we put in our reservation for next year.

It was difficult to leave this place. Almost everything in the house was remodeled. The clean uncluttered home made it easier to enjoy and the view was gorgeous. I’ve rented many nice homes over the years but none like this. Parking was difficult as usual!

The house was very clean and the room was stayed in was the bigger of the three rooms and it was very nice. Loved the huge shower it had in the bathroom. Upstairs was like everyone said, it is a million dollar view. The balcony was large and wrapped around most of the house facing the ocean. Was a perfect place to go for us, would very much like to book this house again.

Property was as described with a beautiful large deck with a beautiful view of the ocean. So close you could hear the waves crashing at night. Three comfortable bedrooms and large kitchen/living room/dining room area on top level with great views out of large picture glass windows. Easy drive into town. Walk is easy to both Shamel Park and Fiscalini Ranch if you don't mind a short steep hill on the return. New grill on the deck. No garage and our two cars had to park behind each other so if you have long bed trucks or SUV's it might be a problem to get them both parked in the driveway. Property was clean and was as described.I chose this property because it was pet friendly. I am very sensitive to pet smells and I would say the carpet in the lower bedrooms might be cleaned. I stayed in the upstairs bedroom so it didn't bother me. Flooring in the kitchen area looked a little worn but considering this rental allows pets I felt it was understandable. I would stay here again if I was traveling with my pet.

We have rented homes from CVR for at least ten years. We had never stayed at this property before. We chose it primarily because we were bringing our little pup with us. The photos looked fine. Let me start by saying that the home has a million dollar view. It was a joy to sit and look out the window everyday at the ocean with those windows. But behind that, we were not impressed. We were actually surprised by the number of positive reviews. We immediately had to go into town to buy candles to help with the moldy smell throughout the home. The furniture looked so dirty that we took sheets and covered it throughout the stay. We basically had the sense that NO ONE care for this home at all!! the bedding and towels were very good. My guess is that’s because of the rental company and not the homeowners. Water was coming in the door due to rain. We had ants in the kitchen and bathroom the entire time. Some of the utensils in the kitchen were so bad. For instance, the cheese grater was literally ripped. Cheese graters aren’t that expensive to replace. The lightbulbs in the bathroom weee so bright you had to squint because you felt e you were being interrogated. And what was supposed to be I’m guessing a closet in the master bedroom is an unfinished room with a curtain and concrete floors with some pieces of carpet thrown on top. Mind you, there were no racks in there to even hang clothes. There is a property that we love that we have stayed at multiple times that is beyond lovely. The owners obviously care for it greatly. This home was basically the same price. It should have been a fraction of the price for the state that it’s in. While we enjoyed our stay and made it work, our family would never recommend this home and am surprised that it’s even in your inventory.

Location was great. The house was roomy. Nice deck. Kitchen was totally sufficient. Only disadvantage was having to climb up and down stairs to get to two of the bedrooms. Difficult for older people. The towels for the bathrooms need to be distributed throughout all three bathrooms. My master bath had mold in the shower.

Wonderful spot for walks to Fiscalini Ranch or Moonstone Beach. Nice view and sound of distant waves.My one recommendation is to fence the lower patio and ice plant area to allow pups a little safe, outdoor freedom.

The view was outstanding from the living room and deck. It was the best feature of the house. The two extra bedrooms were too small.

Was very peaceful. Weather was mostly great with just enough rain to keep things green. Great view of whale migration from deck.

We stayed at this location for 4 nights and 5 days. Immediately we noticed how wonderful the view was, we even saw a few whales breaching. As other people have noted, it smelled a bit stale so we opened all the windows and doors to air the place out. And it also was a bit dusty on the blinds and underneath the furniture. But none of that really mattered. The view was gorgeous, the beds are comfy, the bath has jets, and the location is great! It’s only a few blocks from the park/beach and also the ranch. And a short walk to the Main Street. And at night, if you step outside on the deck, you can see the Milky Way. We would highly recommend and plan to stay there again!

I KNOW THAT IT IS NOT THE OVERALL RESPONSIBLITIES O"CVR"TO MAINTAIIN ALL OF THE MAINTANANCE.THE RUGS WERE DIRTY MOST OF THE WINDOW SHADES WOULD NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY AND POTS AND PANS WHERE SOILED AND THE STOVE COVER VENT WAS REALLY DIRTY.

We had a wonderful week in Cambria and areas around it. The house was very comfortable with a wonderful view. There was a smell when we first came in but that was soon overlooked because everything was so clean and, as I said, comfortable. I would have liked the sun screens to work a little better but the layout of the house, the decoration, and the amenities were so appropriate and supportive of a good time. Bravo. We will definitely be willing to come again.

The shades on the windows facing west need to be repaired in order to be comfortable sitting in the living room before sunset. The views are beautiful.

After renting a fantastic home from CVR and having a wonderful vacation in Cambria in 2009, we were looking forward to a repeat experience in 2019. Everything about our visit in 2019 lived up to our expectations, except the house. The view from the deck and second story was outstanding. The house itself though was very tired and maintenance has been generally neglected by its owner. The pictures posted on CVR's website must have been taken many years ago. Upon arrival, we had to empty the kitchen drawers and completely wash the inside of the drawers and their contents too. One of the roll up blinds on the living room windows was left hanging in tatters, carpet on the stairs was stained and ripped, the range hood was missing most of its paint, kitchen counter was cracked and stained, only had one pot, a lot of lights and switches didn't work, no fans were installed in any of the 3 bathrooms even though the main had been majorly reno'd not that long ago. I'm sure it contributed to the musty smell we noticed in the master bedroom downstairs. The propane bbq on the deck was a safety hazard due to major corrosion on the tank and frozen controls. CVR staff were very good and refunded our cleaning fee, delivered some new pots, and offered to change houses. We opted to stay rather than give up more time to a move. Without the view this house likely wouldn't rent very often. The best description we have is "neglected". Older houses that are clean and well maintained are a delight. Neglected ones are not.We can't understand why other reviewers gave this property such a high rating as recently as month before our visit. Outside of the view, this property is not worthy to included in CVR's inventory until the owner brings it up to more acceptable standards. We regularly rent homes throughout California and Oregon, and even in Europe. This was the first one that we have been very disappointed with.

We have stayed in quite a few properties through CVR, and this property is definitely one of our favorites. The views from the deck are really lovely, it was perfect to lay out during the day and BBQ overlooking the sunset. The house was really clean and cozy, and the bathrooms are beautifully updated. My husband and I spend a lot of time in Cambria throughout the year so we feel like it's our home away from home, and this home felt like home!

We were looking for a home that was located in an area close to hiking with ocean views. Every morning we ventured out to find new places to discover. The Ranch preserve is just a few minutes drive, and a small state beach is within walking distance was perfect for watching the sunset, migrating whales, and otters. We enjoyed our stay, and plan to return soon.
